Thank you to all who voted in the LA2050 grant competition. We think our project, as part of a larger framework to bring more nature back to urban LA, is an awesome approach to bring greenspace to communities now! Results are in May 8th, 2013!

We were very serious when we said asked people to imagine , a Los Angeles with a large system of parks, gardens, micro-spaces, plazitas, parklets, pedestrian walkways that lead to and from work, play and living spaces – in ALL communities.

And we are even more serious about how by taking simple ideologies of space, connectivity and landscape, we can do it.

What if we adapted, or rather re-adapted, to our natural environment? What if we designed spaces in the City interacting with the local environment as a means to return pieces of Los Angeles back to natural space? As a means to make amends with our local, Los Angeles environment?

The first Angelenos were once referred to as “the People of the Earth”. Why not return to the past? Why not implement a proven way of life that reigned and prospered for centuries while inhabited by the first, original Angelenos: The Tongva?

From Lot to Spot firmly believes that creating more greenspace does not need to take years and costs millions – as is the standard in Los Angeles.

We have entered a competition that where the question was “ How would you use $100,000 to shape and build the future of Los Angeles? Via improving the environment.

FLTS and SWA have come up with what we think would be a crucial part of the solution to our ailing local environment:

to create a planning and implementation tool that will assist in creating simple, easy, cost-effective greenspaces all over Los Angeles.

Please read more at the link below and VOTE FOR US!!!! Together, we can make greenspace in EVERY community a reality.
