My personal ask to you year after year does not change: I am asking you to join a revolution – the revolution to change the game in greenspace and food inequity in low-income, communities of color.  And I need YOUR help. WE need it.

I am done. I am done with kids having to play in the streets instead of a park; I am done with families having to travel 20, 30 sometimes 60 minutes to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. I am done with the injustice. We are excited for 2015, and we have so much work to do to ensure these demoralizing vacant lots do not continue to degrade disadvantaged communities.

And they are just that; folks who live here are at a disadvantage, they have the cards piled against them.  And to intensify the situation, their communities are littered with brown, blighted vacant lots disheartening folks every day. It is these types of spaces that continue to separate us; to create some communities where people thrive and others where they just survive.  FLTS wants to create an LA where there isn’t a difference in parks depending on your income, depending on socio-economic background. We all have the right to walk to park, to walk to a store to buy an apple, a tomato, a banana. We all have the right to thrive!

From Lot to Spot needs YOUR CONTRIBUTION to do this work.   Even a $5 donation makes a difference. This is your last chance to get in your end of year, tax-deductible donation and do some good that will go straight into the streets: trees, parks, greenways, gardens, at-risk youth enrichment.   Street spaces where people can come together and communities can thrive; imagine the possibilities.

In solidarity,

Viviana Franco

Ps. Please forward this to THREE people today who want to be in on the revolution and support our work.

We cannot do what we do without YOU. Thank you for your support!
