Mandy Breuer

Mandy Breuer

Mandy, a principal with Larchmont Charter School in Los Angeles, is known for crafting the highest quality of learning spaces, building the whole student—academically, socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Breuer mentors new teachers, greens physical campuses, counsels students, designs family outreach workshops, creates student leadership programs and develops top-notch college and career programming. Before her journey into public education, Breuer spent her time in marketing with FOX Broadcasting Company.

After receiving her B.A. in Public Relations from Texas Tech University and her M.A. in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University, Breuer began her quest to bring environmental justice to the context of public education. Breuer was selected as a recipient of the coveted Dean’s Award for her work in Social Justice. Her tenure with LA County public schools began in the Compton High School counseling department and as a founding director for a 5th grade transition program in Lennox, CA. The last decade has seen Breuer building the counseling, academic and environmental programs from the ground up with Environmental Charter High School, where she served as a school leader for a decade.

Outside of Larchmont Charter, Breuer works closely with a vast array of environmental justice advocates, the Pacific Crest Trail Association and the urban green space renewal organization—From Lot to Spot and Loyola Marymount University’s School of Education. Breuer also enjoys music festivals, playing the guitar in a garage band and backpacking in State and National Parks.

Will Wright

Will Wright

Will is the Director of Government & Public Affairs for the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.  As the chief design advocate for AIA|LA, Wright cultivates awareness about the importance of design excellence in the built environment. In this role, he works with local government leaders, firm principals and other non-profits organizations on strategies to help make our urban system more equitable, healthier and more complete.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles County Business Federation and is a Public Member of the Board for the Los Angeles chapter of BOMA-PAC.  Wright has also served on the steering committee for Climate Plan.  Wright graduated from the Art Center College of Design with an MFA, and has a BFA from Southern Methodist University.

Yancey Quiñones

Yancey Quiñones

Yancey is the successful owner of Antigua Coffeehouse and Roasting company in Cypress Park and El Sereno. He is a social activist and proud community organizer who lead a community campaign to persuade the L.A City Planning and Land Use Committee (PLUM) to remodel a local supermarket into a concept communal market place. He also created the first underground tunnel art gallery in the city of Los Angeles, by converting a 1925 pedestrian walk way relic into a flourishing tunnel art walk in Cypress Park.

His goals are to encourage and develop local youth into young progressive social entrepreneurs to help structure community businesses in order to eliminate blight and to enhance the quality of life in L.A. His deepest mission is to train, educate, and supply jobs for his notable trade along with community ownership. Quinones graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a BA in Social Economics with an emphasis in Business. Most recent, he was Peace Corp “Local Hero” Recipient in 2016.

Peter Zellner

Peter Zellner

Peter is founding partner at ZELLNER and Company. Zellner has over 20 years of experience in building, urban design, interior architecture and exhibition design. He is a former Design Principal at the global design and engineering firm AECOM and has worked in the offices of Davis Brody Bond and Gensler. Between 2004 and 2014 he founded and directed ZELLNERPLUS, an award winning Los Angeles design studio. Zellner holds a Master in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture with First Class Honors from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. He has held visiting professorships at UC Berkeley, the University of Southern California, Florida International University, the Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, the Institut für Städtebau und Raumplanung (Institute for Urban Design and Urban Planning) at the Universität Innsbruck, Austria and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. He was the 2013 Ivan Smith Eminent Chair at the University of Florida, School of Architecture. In September of 2016, Peter founded the Free School of Architecture, a tuition and salary free not for profit organization.

Matt Romero

Matt Romero

Matt is a project designer with Mia Lehrer + Associates. At MLA, his experience includes a variety of work including master planning, mixed use, parks, open space, and trails. His approach is focused on providing sustainable environments through socially and ecologically sensitive community and urban design. Romero graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Sustainable Environments from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and surfing.

Johanna Marin

Johanna Marin

Johanna is e-commerce sales executive for Classic Event & Tent Rentals where she is responsible for handling all traffic that comes in through the web. She also proficiently performs tasks such as consulting, designing and coordinating. Johanna has project managed different levels of events for a vast clientele, ranging from A-list celebrities, Fortune 500 corporations, national and local  non-profits. In her 10 years working in the event industry Johanna has risen to many challenges and executed successfully. She is most professionally proud of her work project managing an event for President Obama.

After obtaining a B.A. in public relations from Cal State Fullerton, Johanna began working in online marketing with Universal Music Group. In this position, she was responsible for leading  groups  in grassroots marketing efforts and coordinated fan pages for acts including Sergio Mendez, Fania Records, Café Tacuba, and Juanes, to name a few. Aside from her career with Classic Event & Tent Rentals, Johanna enjoys cooking, traveling, and has an avid interest in classic hip-hop music. Above all, Johanna’s vivacity, passion, and enthusiasm drive her in all aspects of life.
