On Saturday, April 2, 2016, From Lot To Spot (FLTS) will be hosting our third (3rd) annual Cesar Chavez Day of Service at the Lennox Community Garden. Meet us at 10am at the first community garden in Lennox, located on the southwest corner of Inglewood Avenue and 112th Street. We will be helping our gardeners maintain the space by cleaning, weeding, mulching and planting trees.
More about Lennox Community Garden:
The Lennox Community Garden was opened in April 2012. It serves as an authentic community-run space that provides workshops on capacity building, garden leadership, nutrition, healthy eating and active living.
More about Cesar Chavez Day of Service:
FLTS frames our annual Day of Service around Cesar Chavez, one of the pioneer farm workers in California. As Cesar Chavez Day falls on March 31st of every year, FLTS always coordinates our annual Day of Service event around this holiday as a way to honor and respect his work.
For more information about the event, or to RSVP as a a volunteer, please contact Ailene Ignacio: (323) 920-9550 or [email protected].
