118th & Doty Pocket Park
It was 1988 when Doty Ave was closed to make way for the 105 Freeway. The Freeway was making it’s way west, and little did our founder know that other communities had already been divided by the king of transportation – the freeway.
The 105 Freeway left a litany of vacant, desolate lots around its periphery – to be claim either by able buyers or kids ready to reclaim the land to play.
And this is where 118th & Doty Ave Pocket Park was born – from a vacant lot to a real life playspace. The park opened in 2012 and FLTS continues to work with community to foster a relationship between the community and the park.
